Teachers eat from the children's menu at our Trust Together Day in Edgar Sewter Primary in April
Our Trust Together Day on 17th April was a great opportunityto talk about food!
Teaching and Learning Support Staff met at Bungay Primary, and Teachers gathered at Edgar Sewter for a day of professional development.
In the middle of the day was a session about food - and it's importance in the long term health and wellbeing of our children. We talked about our ASSET vision statement and what it means to "personally and collectively thrive" with a key focus on how we "equip and empower" our children with an excellent food education and ensure they eat well while they are in school. The statistics on child health and nutrition are alarming, and there is a lot we can do to make a difference.
It was also a rare opportunity for our school chefs to cook together - splitting into two teams and cooking from our school menu so that staff could taste the food that we put on for children in our dining rooms. The feedback was amazing, with many empowered to further develop our food education and lunchtime experiences.
